English Synopsis

Mariem Hassan was Western Sahara's most popular singer, a national symbol for this country in exile. Suffering from terminal illness, she retreated to the desert, to a region of her homeland liberated by Sahrawis where she spent her childhood. There, she composed the song "Farewell" and invited us to film her last testimony.

Mariem Hassan fue la más importante cantante de música popular saharaui, considerada un símbolo de ese país en el exilio. Víctima de una enfermedad irreversible, se retiró al desierto, a una zona liberada por los saharauis donde pasó su infancia. Fue entonces que compuso la canción "La Despedida" y nos pidió que fuéramos a rodar su último testimonio.
